Food Park Truck SKG is the first open-air food truck park in Greece, introducing an innovative experience in the field of dining.
As an outdoor space, it offers a safe environment for leisure, gathering, and social interaction, responding to the isolation and disruption of social life brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing inspiration from pop and street culture, the project’s design reflects ephemerality, spontaneity, mobility, and a playful aesthetic.
The initiative emerged from the collaboration of two food truck teams (The Vanners & Mammy’s Caravan) who sought a permanent location to offer their services. An empty lot in Pylaia, Thessaloniki, was selected for the project — a 1,045 sqm site northwest of Elaiorama. The design had to define a completely new typology: an organized, accessible space for up to six food trucks, seating, and auxiliary functions such as storage and restrooms.

A central public “plaza” was created as the heart of the park, surrounded by amphitheatrically arranged truck spots. Curved lines define the space, blending freedom with organization. A colorful palette unites the design, with a central ramp ensuring accessibility. The centerpiece is a large graffiti artwork on the main seating platform, created by street art group 3MK.
Minimal permanent construction was used: concrete only where needed, gravel elsewhere. Auxiliary spaces were integrated into a repurposed 45ft shipping container. Completed in May 2021, the park has become a vibrant hub in Thessaloniki — a unique space that embodies street culture, joy, movement, and community.
